July 14th to 18th 2010
The Druid Camp is the largest annual gathering of Druids in Britain, and is open to people of all persuasions who’d like to learn more, or simply hang out with a bunch of wild druids! The camp is alive with activities, opportunities, rites and rituals, storytelling, music and performance, with a children’s area filled with wonderful resources for creativity.
Through Thursday, Friday and Saturday,
and Sunday morning, there are always three or four workshops or talks to choose
from, given by well-respected elders of the Druid community, and each morning
and evening there is the opportunity to join the Circle Dancing, or indeed the
band who play for the dancers. For early risers with energy, there is a session
of Stav - the Nordic martial art based upon the Runes. The sessions are suitable
for beginners and trained practitioners. On Friday and Saturday evenings, there
is music, storytelling and performances, and of course the time-old tradition
of evenings around firesides, sharing stories, music and laughter. For those
who need silence, space and serenity, the Forest of Dean provides endless territory
to explore.
